2 Peter 1:20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,

God wants us to know the truth and so He makes sure that we are given the right tools and or people to show us what is contained within the scriptures, our bibles.

When you hear a person talking about the bible that has not read the bible, you can pick up on all the mistakes and misunderstandings that man has created from his own imagination.

God’s word does not change; we may have it in different languages and different styles, but the word of God does not change. Man changes the meaning as he tries to think things through with his own mind.

2 Samuel 6:14 Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.

David wanted to make sure that he celebrated the return of the ark from his heart and not through pomp and ceremony.

There may well be a time for the right pomp and ceremony, but David was leaving that all behind, dancing along wearing a linen ephod instead of his royal robes.

Some people objected, and even called him a fool; but for David this was a release as he worshiped his God with nothing between him and God!

Dance and sing before God, but make it personal, not ceremonial.

Revelation 2:19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.

How much do you do for God? I’m talking about the works as opposed to how much you pray and trust in Him… Are you doing what God wants or would like you to do?

When we start working for someone we tend to jump in and work hard so that we can impress. But how good are you at keeping up with that work or level of work?

God wants us to be faithful and willing, but also to continue being faithful and willing, not lacking in either as we continue our relationship with Him.

Persevere.

Matthew 24:46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.

When Christ talked to people, He made sure that He used words that they would understand and words that would make a difference.

When Christ said something He would always make sure that He did what He said; if you’re talking about doing something, then do it, don’t just talk about it!

When we do things for others, Christ is watching over us and He notices what we do, both good and bad. He also hears what we say we will do…

Today is Mother’s Day in England. Do something for your mother today, don’t just talk about it.
