Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

God is the one who does know what is best for each of us and He will try to direct us toward that goal so that we can achieve the best for us and Him. So where do we start?

Well, the starting point for anything with God is to stop and listen. Just stop being so involved with your own ways and listen to God.

While we are so focused on doing our own thing or doing what we think God or the church wants, or doing things the way we have always done, we are not listening properly to what God may want in our lives!

2 Timothy 2:24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

There are times when we like to be able to prove ourselves better than others by showing them that we know more than them; and yes, we probably all fall into that category – especially as young children!

This verse actually warns about teachers of the word getting caught up in their own vain teachings rather than concentrating on the truth that God gives us to give to others.

As teachers we must always reach out in love and try to communicate as best we can to deliver the Gospel message.

2 Corinthians 1:24 Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.

Nobody has charge over your faith! No matter what others may think and do they do not have charge over your faith. Yes they can make your faith weaker by discouraging you or telling you a lie, but they do not have power over your faith.

Each of us should be lifting others up for God’s glory and certainly not putting anyone down. We need to work together as Christians otherwise we will be the ones placing wedges between us and God as we find we discourage others rather than lifting them up!

We stand by faith and that faith is your own to exercise.

1 Corinthians 15:1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.

When we tell someone about Christ, show them the Gospel or demonstrate to them how we live as Christians, it should not be a once off occurrence!

How is anyone going to see how much Christ actually means to us if we are going to only show them a snippet of what they can gain through living with Christ themselves.

The apostles went out continually and preached the Gospel to others; something we should be doing as well.
