John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

Jesus knew how much He was up against because He could see in the hearts of His chosen people. He could see that they had this belief in God because of all the things that had happened in the past, but they did not want to believe in Him.

For us to place our faith and trust in Jesus means that we have to not just believe in Him but we have to listen to what He teaches us. That is also going to mean that we need to turn our backs on the world and actually listen to His instruction daily.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

When Jesus said these words it was a perfect description of His omniscience and His omnipotence giving us the knowledge that we need to believe in Him after many years have passed.

Jesus chose His words carefully not just for the people around Him but for every person that is going to hear His words for many years to come.

We have these words so that we may believe in Him and hence have the eternal life that He promises each one of us. What a Saviour!

Revelation 1:18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

As the future was revealed to John he began to see just how important Jesus was, not just to him but to the whole world, past, present and future!

Jesus was not only a man who walked on this earth for some 33 years, but is, was and forever will be the Son of God. He also lives forever more after being raised from the dead after paying for our sins through His death and burial.

And now He has the sole right to judge us according to His righteousness!

2 Corinthians 4:10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

Just like Jesus went through many things to make sure that we would have eternal life through the forgiveness of our sins, we too will probably have to face many trials in order to show others how special Christ is.

We must be prepared to go through sufferings, though they will be nothing compared to what Christ faced, so that we will better understand just how much He did for us.

The more we understand the more we will be able to show others that there is no one like Jesus, our Saviour, through what we do for them.
