Romans 10:14 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Are you still waiting for the invitation to go out and tell people about Christ? If you are, then you may not be hearing from others in the right ways…

Our churches need to give out the good news. They also need to impress on Christians the urgency of getting God’s Word out to others!

Be a part of the movement. Encourage each other to step forward and tell someone else about Christ.

Take the power out of this world and allow God to shine!

Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

How is anyone going to get to know about Jesus, God or the Holy Spirit unless we speak up about them? This world is like a honey trap, encouraging people in and then trapping them in a deep hole.

Christ wants us to be able to be free from the ties of this world which means we should be telling others of this good news.

Don’t keep the bible to yourself, take what you hear and pass it on to others. Yes there will be people who reject it, but there will be other who do not!

Joel 2:32 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.

Joel laid out many warnings of what would happen to the people but also gave hope by reminding us we have a choice to make.

If we choose to continue following the world, then the only reward we shall ever see is of this world.

But if we choose to follow Christ and His will, then the rewards we will see are not limited to this world but of the great things to come when Christ returns.

Set your sites up toward heaven.

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him

Moses lead the people God chose to be His special people; the twelve tribe who make up the Jewish people – the people of Israel.

Jesus came to show us we all have a place in Heaven. Moses and the laws were written for the people of Israel to be an example for us all.

Christ taught amongst the Jews and sent His disciples to teach the Jews; but He also sent others such as Paul to reach out to everybody else.

We have a place in His heart just as others do. Trust Him and Believe!

Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

God showed us, through Christ, we have a way to be with Him in heaven even though we fall short of the mark – we have all fallen short of those laws written down by Moses!

If we are willing to accept in our hearts that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for our sins and has been raised from the dead, then we will have the same treatment from Christ.

God wants us all to be with Him in heaven. Our sin stops us from getting there. But Christ is willing to wipe the slate clean if we are willing to accept He can!

Romans 10:5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”

Moses wrote words from God. These words say we need to follow God’s instructions and to carry them out in our lives.

But everything we know shows us how living by those laws is not possible for us; no matter how close we are to God.

Jesus was exceptional because He had absolute faith in God the Father; we lack in faith, belief, conviction and many other things which prevent us from fulfilling the law.

That is why God allowed Jesus to come to earth…

Deuteronomy 6:22 Before our eyes the Lord sent signs and wonders—great and terrible—on Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household.

These are the chronicles of the time written down and faithfully copied by scribes time and time again. Today we use computers and printing presses to reprint or re-publish God’s Word.

Why should these words be any different from the words written in text books we learn from today?

Man has studied these words and found them to be true. Man has copied and dissected the words and learned to trust them.

We should too!

Psalm 106:18 Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.

When we turn our backs on our friends we should not expect any help of support from them; the same could be said about God as well.

And yet we still find so many more places in our bibles which talk about God’s forgiveness and mercy rather than His wrath and fire (as in this verse).

God continues to try and turn us away from our evil ways and place more faith and trust in His righteous ways – but in order to benefit from those ways we do have to turn toward them!

Numbers 16:35 And fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.

Many people remember this once instance and quote it as the Lord being unfair, but time and time again God had to carry out His promises because Israel tried to do their own thing!

In this case we have several families who have done their own thing by making an offering they think should be done instead of what God has commanded of them.

What happens? God has to carry out His promise to punish those who come up against Him in the manner promised.

250 people died because they thought they knew better than God’s Word. Don’t think you are immune…

1 Chronicles 13:10 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.

When God got the people of Israel to create the Ark of the Covenant, it was with strict instruction for no person to touch it after it was dedicated.

Unfortunately, Uzzah reached out to steady it as it went over rough ground and broke that single law.

Was God right to carry out His promise? Well, He had not choice because He had made the promise. Now everyone knew it was a promise!

God will not put up with people doing things wrong for much longer…

Hebrews 12:5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you”

Just as He wants us to do more and more for Him each day, He wants it to be done in the right manner.

If we run off and try to do things our own way, we are going to fall short of His wishes and eventually come up against Him!

God is not going to stand idly by and watch us do things wrong over and over again; He is going to discipline us before too long; just as a parent disciplines their children, He will discipline us!

Don’t be put off by this – He is doing it because He loves us!

Hebrews 12:12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.

Each one of us grows weary under the stresses and strains of our lives or of those around us; God wants us to be strengthened.

The more we get tired of doing things the less we want to do; God wants us to do more each day for Him.

So how do we do more without getting even more tired? How do we do anything without burning out?

We give our worries and our burdens to Christ; this means giving them to Him and trusting He will do something with them… not whipping them back as soon as we have given them to Him!

Numbers 14:14 And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.

Ever thought about why certain things have been written down for us to remember? God wanted them written down for future generations to remember what He has done!

God wanted all the people who came into contact with the Israelites to hear about all the things God did for them; that way they would write stories about it too… so it could be remembered!

God wants us to know our past – look it up and be amazed with what God has done for us over the ages!

1 Corinthians 10:1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea.

How often do you go back through your bible and think about the stories we can read? How often do you wonder at the awesomeness of God through what you hear?

Every day new stories are being made because of the things God does in our lives and the way He looks out for us.

Don’t wait for something special to have to happen to you before you believe – trust the stories we have written down in our bibles about a God who cares!

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us

All around us are people. People who are watching and waiting to see what we do. No, they are not all stalking us, but they do watch to see what Christians get up to.

We are examples working out our lives in front of a vast audience to try and show people a way to Christ. If we don’t make a good example of things, they will not be able to see a way forward to Christ.

Give your burdens to Christ so you can focus on the way ahead for Him and with Him instead of trying to make life work for you. Christ is here to help!

Genesis 4:15 But the Lord said to him, “Not so; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

Many of us think we are too far gone or have done too many bad things to be used by God. Quite the opposite is true!

God is going to use whoever He pleases to make sure His word is spread. Take Cain for example. He murdered his brother through jealousy over their offerings; but God still wanted to do things with him.

God protected Cain and made sure people knew the consequences of what happens when they work against Him – but God gave him time to repent…

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Lessons need to be learned from history; why should mankind have to go through the same thing over and over again?

God has given us enough of our history to learn from other people’s mistakes so we can hopefully get it right – and yet we still choose to forget history.

I know some history teachers are utterly boring, but it is the subject we should focus on and not the teacher. Read God’s word and see what the original author wanted you to learn…

1 Corinthians 12:31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

No matter what gifts we have from the Spirit, no matter what physical abilities we have or even mental capacity… God can show us a better way!

God wants us to be able to use the gifts we have for the betterment of His church – if we are going to hold back on anything we will not find out just how great things can be.

So, no matter what state you find yourself in today – God can use you to do something rather special which will make people stand up and think!

Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Those of us who love going to church meetings do so because of a variety of reasons from the worship, to the learning to the quiet times… and God is pleased we do gather together.

But God is also pleased with the stuff we do outside of those meetings, whether it is helping in our local food bank, helping people on the streets or giving to our neighbours who need something.

Do not hold back just because you are not in a church building, be out there showing the world our church lives in this world and God is the head of our church!

Galatians 2:10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

When the disciples agreed they should be reaching the Jews and Paul the Gentiles, the one thing they asked was for Paul to always remember the poor!

How often we forget about the poor and needy when we are focused on either expanding our church or getting money in to do things with the church!

The poor will always be there, but they probably have a much greater chance at facing death that the well off in society; simply because of their standards of living.

Look out for those who are in need, because they may disappear quicker than you imagine…
