Luke 19:10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
After all the celebrations die down you may begin to think that people have given up on you or that they don’t seem to care; I mean, we had all the presents a week ago, now there seems like there is nothing left to do…
Please remember that God did allow Jesus to be born on earth thousands of years ago. Jesus then made it His personal quest to seek and to save the people around Him that may well have been feeling very lost. God continues to seek people and to save them from their ways and their lives. He wants to do the same for you…

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
You may hear some pretty grim stories from the bible but the one thing we need to remember is that it all happened that way for a very good reason – so that we can learn from what has happened in the past. God has personally made sure that Jesus Christ came to rescue us from the terrible lives that we may have and to show us how special life can be with Him.
Don’t push God out just because someone else told you something that you did not like. God has come to save us…

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
Ok, so I couldn't wait for tomorrow...
As we work though a verse a day for the comming year we are going to see many different things about Christians that you may not have thought about before; we will also see many different things about God that you will not have thought about either.
Today we simply look at the amazing love that God has for us. We like to think we know what love is about and what makes up love, but our so called love seems to have limits. God's love has no limits and I just want you to know that up front so we can explore this much deeper than if we think of God as being human...
He is not. He is God. His love knows no limits...

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, the whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (NKJV)
This is the first verse that I learned from the bible when I was much younger and one that has allowed me to see many different things about God, about religion and about me as well. I learned this at a church in Zimbabwe because I had to in order to be confirmed. It was not until a while later when I learned how special these words actually are. God, our God, almighty and everlasting, allowed His Son to come and visit us so that we could share in His love and so that we can have hope.
When everything around us seems to be breaking up and breaking down, God continues to show us we have hope; and that hope comes through believing in Him. I would like each of your to be able to learn about that same love that God has for me, because I know He has it for you as well. I am nothing special; but I know that you are because He loves you!
Join us as we begin our journey of hope....

Ephesians 5:1 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children
When you read the instruction manual – do you find it is easier to work with your new possession?
We are God’s children and He has given us His instruction manual – our bible – so we can live properly!
It is our task to read the instruction manual and try to live our lives better according to that manual.
God is trying to help us through the Holy Spirit too...

Philippians 2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
Our modern bibles have been divided up into chapter and verses, some of which don’t make much sense when we see them in our modern ways of speaking...
We are given a significant and awesome title of ‘children of God!’ A title we should strive to live up to!
We live in a world where things change so quickly and people chop and change laws, rules and even their own ways of living!
God never changes. Be the bright reflection of Christ for others to see by.

Matthew 10:16 I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
When Jesus sent the disciples out to spread the gospel, He warned them about the opposition they would face... even though they were being sent to the Jews!
God is the one who knows who will give us the most opposition – sometimes it is going to be the people we least expect it from!
As long as we do listen and obey God, we should be on track to do His will without losing the battle.

John 10:12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
One of the things we know about Jesus was He did not run away from what was going to happen to Him even though He knew all which would happen.
Jesus knows what is going to happen in our lives too – He is watching over us like a good shepherd would, trying to stop us from doing silly things!
If we do listen properly to Him, He will keep us out of danger!

Ephesians 2:11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called ‘uncircumcised’ by those who call themselves ‘the circumcision’ (which is done in the body by human hands)
These words to the Ephesians show the love of Christ going out to all people!
Up until Paul was called to spread the gospel to the Gentiles, everything was focused on getting the Jews to realise just who Jesus was!
God wants us all to be called Children of God whether we come from Jewish, Christian, whatever families or backgrounds.
Listen to the gospel and hear the good news of what Christ has done for you!

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
It is not what we can do, what we have done or what we are doing which really counts – it is the fact Jesus went to the cross on our behalf which really counts!
We may be able to show people how good we are, how much we have done, how well we can speak about Christ; but what counts is what Jesus teaches us through His word and the Holy Spirit!
Don’t worry you have done too many bad things – nothing is too big which cannot be covered by the blood Jesus shed for you on the cross – rejoice!

Ephesians 2:19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household
Because Jesus opened the door to all people – we all have access to God through Christ’s blood.
We all are called children of God, all who receive Him as Saviour!
We become part of one big family of Christians because of what Christ did for every person & not because we belong to a particular church, denomination, creed or race...

Psalm 42:8 By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me – a prayer to the God of my life.
When we are busy doing things in church, talking to other Christians and generally doing stuff with God’s people, you will notice how much He does for us...
But when you are in bed alone at night, how much are you going to see?
If we spend time meditating on what God has done for us, going back over all the things He has supplied us with and saved us from, we will see so much more!

Psalm 41:4 I said, ‘Have mercy on me, Lord; heal me, for I have sinned against you.’
How often do you admit to doing wrong? I know none of us like to have to admit we have done wrong, but God wants us to be honest and open!
When we have done something wrong, or sinned against Him, we should be willing to admit to what we have done and to ask for forgiveness.
When we can set aside the guilt of what we have done, we can move forward with confidence knowing God is with us!

Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
How many things do you ask God for? How many of those things do you actually need?
Jesus said we need to be content with what we have, but He also said we can ask God for anything.
God loves us more than we can fully understand – this is why He allowed Christ to be our Saviour once and for all.
Christ has reminded us to ask anything of God through Him, so He can plead on our behalf.

Psalm 27:10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.
Does this seem a bit harsh? Well, most of us will get to see our parents pass away before we do – basic statistics.
It is no fault of our parents that they die before us, yet they do leave us alone in the world when they do die; it can be a very sad time.
But we can get our greatest comfort from knowing God will never leave us – He cannot die because He lives eternally.
What better person to rely on than our God!

Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
How often do you do things wrong and someone shouts at you or doesn’t talk to you?
I know I get things wrong a lot of the time, and some would say it’s because I’m a man! No matter, we all get things wrong from time to time.
God has shown mankind love and compassion above and beyond what we deserve!
God knows what we are live – yet He still is willing to love and support us!

Mark 7:23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person
Have you ever been told you should not go to a certain place or talk to some people because they are not Christians?
I know I have, and I know I have passed on those type of sentiments in the past!
Jesus clearly showed us God’s ways by meeting with everyone who was willing to listen!
We need to extend the love of God out to every person who is willing to listen – this can be hard!

Psalm 6:6 I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.
Are you honest with you problems or are you trying to hide them as best you can?
I know I tend to try and hide my problems in fear of others finding out and blaming me for doing something wrong!
We all make mistakes at times – but sometimes bad things happen even when we don’t make mistakes – life just happens around us!
Lift up your concerns to God and allow Him to comfort you!

Psalms 7:10 My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.
Have you ever wondered how people survived without airbags in their cars when they had accidents?
We have so many safety features in our lives which we take for granted nowadays because they have been around for a long time...
God has been around even longer and some people don’t understand what it is about God which saves us and from what!
God looks inside our hearts and does things according to what He knows about us – not what the world thinks they deserve!

Romans 3:9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
You cannot say you will be free from temptation just because you are a Christian or Jew or whatever!
We are all open to temptations and we all sin at some stage in our lives.
God wants us to know, however, we all live under His grace and mercy – He is faithful to show us His love no matter what!
