Psalm 5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.

Let us never forget that our God is not a god who loves wars, fighting, wickedness or evil; He cannot abide any of this.

So, if we are trying to build our lives based on anything evil or wicked, we have a problem which is keeping us away from God!

Christ’s command for us to love one another is a command which works against such things in our lives, things we need to avoid in order to draw closer to Him.

Try to follow God’s ways for a week and see how different you feel about people around you!

Revelation 17:6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marvelled with great amazement.

Seeing anyone out of control can be disturbing but what makes them lose control can be even more disturbing!

What sort of things make you lose control? Anger? Alcohol? Drugs? Greed? Spite? Would you build your life on any of these attributes?

Building your life on the misfortune of others or breaking the lives of others so your life can be better are probably worse than anything listed above.

God has given us instructions for a better life – we should be following those instructions…

Psalm 14:3 They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.

How many times have you gone forward expecting people to support you and found you are going forward alone and without help?

How many times have people around you looked to you for help and you have turned your back on them?

Life is all about keeping good relationships with people, just as God commanded us to love one another.

You don’t have to be a sinless person to help or love others. Just do it!

Psalm 14:2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

There are some people who in their zeal to become better Christians will shout about how God is watching over us and will pour down His wrath on any who do wrong!

What the bible tells us is quite different. Yes God is watching over us, constantly… but it is not to try and trip us up!

God watches us to see if we are understanding His ways; if not, He will try to guide us toward the light so we can get to know Him better.

He loves us!
