John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Before Christ came to be with us, the world was sinking into darker times. Not much is written about these times in the bible and our history books tell us of so much unrest during these years.

Have a look around you now and see the unrest in all walks of life. We are in an age where we are desperate for light in this dark world.

Just like then, we need to spread the good news of Christ so people can find hope in their seemingly hopeless lives.

John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

One thing many of us find hard to understand is just how Jesus could have been alive before the world was created and how He is alive today still.

Questioning God when you are trying to figure out what you should be doing is natural because you should be clear about what it is God is asking of you; but our faith should be in believing God and not trying to understand how He exists.

Is it not enough that He has done all of this for us; created a world, given us life, forgiven us when we asked and promised us life eternal?

Let Christ light up your life!

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Which laws do you follow and obey? Do you choose what to follow or are you open to following all the laws of the land?

I know there are many laws which are simply out of date and no longer applicable such as the still standing law in the UK “dying in the houses of parliament is illegal!”

God’s laws continue to be current and fruitful; what man has added is what we see when we complain.

Stick with what God has said and Jesus upheld!

1 John 3:23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

Of all the commandments God has given us, the two which stand out the most and of which we are reminded the most are these: We love God and we love each other.

Yes, it takes faith to love God. Yes, it takes grace to love each other. That is the whole point.

To have faith and to exercise grace continually; Christ continued to remind everyone of these simple steps to keep close to Him.
