Matthew 24:25 See, I have told you beforehand.

How many times do you have to be told something before you start believing it? Chances are you will give a different answer for each person who asks.

Jesus had to tell the people a varying amount of times before they would start listening; the more they got to know Him the less they should have had to tell people.

Unfortunately, life does not always work like this. When we are attentive we listen. When we are tired we ignore things.

But when we trust we tend to short cut things and believe quicker. Is it therefore all about trusting God?

Matthew 28:6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

I’m not going to say “I told you so!” But I think Jesus would have loved to have gone round to each of the disciples and said it!

I’m sure the angel had great delight in showing up and telling the people as they came to the tomb that Jesus had already risen.

We serve a risen Lord. We serve a God who keeps His promises. We serve a God who loves us more than we realise and keeps on loving us throughout everything in our lives.

John 2:19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

After clearing the physical temple of all the people who had treated it with disrespect and ignoring God, Jesus gave these words to His disciples.

The temple He was talking about was not the physical building but rather at His body; but this would not come to light until much later.

Jesus was keeping to the promises made many years ago and was at this time promising something which would come a few years later.

Trust in a God who always fulfils His promises!

1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!

When Solomon built the grand temple which His father David had planned, He knew it was not really big enough for God to live inside but this was all happening to give God the glory.

Solomon did not throw it all away just because he thought God could not fit inside the box; instead he continued to build the temple and finally blessed it with a very big celebration.

How much are you going to give to God, not physically, but in your worship time?
