Mark 1:3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’”

Would you be willing to stand up as the only person in a crowd to say you were a Christian?

John was given the task of telling people about Christ, about promoting the gospel where few or none others would be doing so.

He was given a particular task in a particular location to do God’s work. God has a plan for each of us and a location for each of us…

Are you willing to put aside your wants and desires to listen to God’s plan?

Mark 6:12 So they went out and preached that people should repent.

What do you do for a living? How much of your time is actually spent talking to other people about God?

I know it may seem like we talk for a long time to others straight after church or before church, but in reality the time we spend is very short in comparison with other subjects.

The disciples went out to go and talk to people about God. Not as a side line but as their main task.

We do have to make a living and so we need to be able to work to earn money; but work should not exclude us from spreading the good news!

Acts 13:51 But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

Do you know how hard it is to turn your back on someone when you know you are trying to tell them the truth?

I know it is very hard, but don’t look at it as turning your back on them. They are still there and you can still think about them and pray for them; just don’t waste too much energy trying to teach them the gospel.

There are plenty of people who God has prepared for us to talk to and plenty He knows will reject Him.

Follow God’s instructions and continue to talk to people who are willing to listen. He will work with the ones who are not and will change their hearts when He wants to.

Matthew 10:14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

What is your attitude toward others as a Christian? I expect people to treat me as I treat them; which means I need to treat other people with respect and love.

People in my village and surrounding areas know I am a Christian and expect me to act like one; not many reject me just because I am a Christian anymore… it has taken more than a decade though!

Do I give up on people who continue to reject me or treat me with distain? No. I don’t give up, but I do walk away knowing I have at least told them about God!

Don’t be dragged down by these sort of people. Keep them in your prayers because God can move mountains!
