Psalm 22:8 “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

How do you think other people see you and your relationship with God? Do they see someone who is trusting God or someone who is just going along for the ride?

I used to think it didn’t matter what other people thought about me and my relationship with God until I heard what they were saying!

If people are saying you are not acting like a Christian, then you are not!

Be more like Christ today and live your life with Him in your heart, every step of the way!

Psalm 14:6 You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge.

It is the people who are afflicted, poor in spirit or poor in wealth who typically call out to God and listen to His answers.

Those who are no longer poor or who have never been in that position do not call out to God as much because they find comfort in their physical beings and things.

By ignoring the simple things in life God is trying to show us, we discourage the poor by making it seem as though those things are not important.

Every word which has come from God is important and need to be obeyed. We may break the rules but those who are poor are trying hard to stick to them. Help them!

Psalm 4:2 How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood?

How many times does God have to ask this question? How many times do we turn the good God has done and shown us into something bad?

Human society and history are littered with so many things which we find distasteful, and yet we are the ones who have made it so (maybe not us personally, but the human race.)

Loving God and fearing Him should be the centre of our lives so we can promote Him and His ways. It is not such a big ask from our creator that we obey Him!

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.

The Jews were the chosen people by God. As such they were told to place their full trust and faith in God; and yet they continued to put their faith and trust in the people around them such as the Egyptians or Assyrians.

God extended this to all people when Jesus came forward to give His life for us all. This means He does expect each of us to place our full faith and trust in Him and not in people.

This does not mean we give up on friendships and trusting those around us. Christ reminded us one of the greatest commandments is to love one another.
