Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

No matter how you look at this sentence; whether as what was said by Neil Armstrong as he stepped onto the moon or whether you look at it as what you have learned from studying God’s Word, it still must have a big impact!

No matter how you view creation, we stand on an awesome planet which has a beginning somewhere and sometime.

I prefer to look at this universe as being a creation which is tending toward chaos as we go our own way.

God exists and God is in control of this universe; we are having a profound influence on it because we have a choice!

Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

Who was God speaking to saying these words? We can only guess this is what is being said between the Holy Trinity.

This is the decision point after which mankind has a big problem; and that is living up to God’s expectations!

God knows what we are capable of and what we can endure. He points us in the right direction for us to achieve the most; and yet we choose to achieve only so much.

It is little wonder then we have a finite timespan placed on our lives rather than being able to continue to mess things up for eternity!

Psalm 81:12 So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, To walk in their own counsels.

As a parent it is sometimes difficult to deal with new situations with your children simply because you have not had to deal with anything like that before.

When children do not listen to parents or guardians they often find themselves in difficult places. Why? Because control has been lost somewhere along the line.

God may stop us in our tracks for us to learn what is wrong with what we are doing. Stop and listen! God is watching and wants to help us but we have to be willing to listen.

Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people,

How do you speak to babies? How do you speak to people with special needs? Each of us will probably choose to speak in a different manner in these cases.

We may see others talking to people with special needs and wonder at their effectiveness at reaching those people because we may think we lack the right manner of speaking to them.

God chose the right people to talk to His people to get the right reaction. He has chosen you. Are you listening to what He wants of you?
