Deuteronomy 25:4 You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.

Have you ever tried to make up rules for a game? It seems easy at first as we make the first few, but when we get to play the game we find so many look holes!

God tried to make the rules to live by as simple as possible so there would not be any ambiguity – and yet we still find fault because of the way we think!

When God said they should not muzzle the ox at work it was also directing us in the way we should be working.

Don’t limit your thinking to the here and now and the physical things around us. Our thoughts and prayers should go far beyond of imaginations so we can get to know God better!

Numbers 22:28 Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”

This is one of the stories I love to tell because it is just so real and yet so unbelievable!

We all get to the stage where we are just doing stuff because it has been done that way forever; and we treat stuff with contempt because we don’t know why!

God reminds us we need to make sure we do not take anything for granted otherwise we lose sight of how much he does for us!

Having the donkey talk back is just what we need at times when we have refocused on the world instead of God!

Proverbs 12:10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Love is expressed in your whole life and not just in front of the one you profess to love. It is easy to spot someone who does love like Christ wants us to love because they are the ones showing love to those others are mistreating.

Equally the so called love that a cruel person shows is nothing more than a sham!

God wants us to open our hearts and love with everything we have and not just for the moment.

Show you love openly, not your lust.

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

In order to be kind to each other we have to aim to set things right first of all; this can be as hard as we want it to be or as simple as this verse says.

Putting aside all of the ill feelings, evil ways, harsh thought, harsh words and setting aside the feelings that have built up from past events will release us to move forward.

It may take us a long time before we have the courage and strength to be able to do this; but with God and through God we can and must try.
