James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

This weekend is remembered by Christians as a very special weekend that Christ laid down His life for us. We do not know the full details of everything that happened but we have enough proof that Christ was our perfect sacrifice.

Because of that knowledge we can come to God in faith knowing that He is now listening to our prayers and answering them too. We do not have to doubt because we have so much proof written down in our bibles.

When we start doubting we are nothing more than something being blown about by other forces like the wind. Let us stand firm in God.

Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

When we do come to God in prayer we have to make sure that we come to Him with a pure and open heart because it is into that heart that God looks; not in absolute fear but with the full assurance that God is listening and will answer prayers.

We do not have to have a guilty conscience because Christ has paid for our sin debt already; and as long as that is what we are trusting in (in full assurance) then we have a glorious knowledge that God hears everything.

Christ did all that He has done to make sure we can approach Him in prayer at any time so lift up your prayers today for all that He has done!

1 Timothy 2:8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.

When we lift up our prayers to God it should not be as a show of pride or any other outward show of emotion; rather it should be an honest and humble request from us directly to God from our hearts.

Religious people may well do their prayers as a matter of course, but God wants us to lift up our prayers as a one to one talk coming from our hearts because He wants to answer according to our needs.

Above all we need to come to Him with the right attitude and certainly not in anger, blaming Him for things in our lives. God is fair and just. We need to accept His will for our lives because He does know what is best for us.

Hebrews 12:12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees

Are you ready and willing to pray to God when required? Are you brave enough to say “yes I will pray”? Are you committed enough to pray for others when they need it?

God would like us to be able to be free enough to come to Him in prayer at any time of the day or night, whether someone is in dire need or not. God wants a personal relationship with us that goes beyond “a friend in need”.

We need to be encouraged in prayer always and to do so freely whenever we want to and certainly not to be held back just because the world think we should be busy with something else!
