Matthew 8:22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

This must have been a very hard thing to hear for this disciple… how could they turn their back on their family to go and learn more about God?

Jesus always had reasons for doing things and saying things; this would have been no exception!

Maybe Jesus knew they would loose track on things and never catch up with Him – we don’t know…

When we ask God for an answer, we must be prepared to listen to the answer in full!

Psalm 103:20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.

If the mighty angels are called upon to praise the Lord, then what are we doing about it?

We are lower than the angels so should be praising God even more – we should be obeying Him even more!

The angels knew what the best thing to do was, and that was to praise the Lord.

Let us follow their example and praise His Holy Name!

Psalm 11:7 For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.

If we are willing to draw close to God, we will get to see His face in everything we do!

God watches over us and walks with us every step of our lives... but we don’t always see Him.

If we are walking the right way, but facing the wrong direction, we will not see God.

If we are walking the right way, but close our eyes, we will not see God!

Matthew 7:6 Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

You may have heard God’s word being described as more precious than silver or gold... it is; but don’t stop sharing it!

It is not our tasks to convert people; rather we should be introducing them to the Gospel and allowing Christ to work in their hearts.

Our words and ways will always fall short of God’s words and ways; so use God’s Word to reach out to other people instead of your ways!
