Psalm 29:1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Each one of us has a duty to praise God and give Him all the glory due to Him; not just because He is God but because of all He has done for us.
Whether we are angels or the least significant creature on the earth, we need to acknowledge God as our creator!
He created everything perfect for each one of us. We continue to break things and mess things up, but he continues to be there for us always loving, supporting and even forgiving us…

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
When we first heard about Christ, we probably had to take a very different view on this person they called Jesus. We probably had to take a very different look at how we say pretty much everything around us!
Believing in Jesus should change your life. Your life should be more focused on what God wants and less on what you want.
Your life should show you are willing to follow Christ and His teachings; just part of this may mean wanting to be baptised.
Christ wants you to have full access to the Holy Spirit!

Matthew 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
If you are truly penitent, if you know what your sin is, if you are willing to repent, then do things which show you are!
It is one thing to talk about being sorry, but another thing to be sorry. Most people will see straight through you when you pretend to be sorry; especially God!
Just like a tree is known by the fruit it produces, so we will be known by the way we do things and the way we act.
Act like a Christian. Be a Christian!

Proverbs 28:13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
Jesus Christ was hung on the cross to be the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. If we do not acknowledge this, we are saying He did this for no reason.
But if we do acknowledge it and believe it in our hearts, we are lifting Him up as our Saviour.
When we do that, we will be in the right place to receive God’s mercy; Christ wants to forgive our sins but needs to hear we are willing to admit to them and allow Him to bury them once and for all!

John 9:31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will.
This may be seen as a contentious statement by many, but it is the theme we are looking at here, not the physical wording…
God is holy. He cannot abide sin. Yet He does listen to us because Christ listens to us. But why should He have to listen to those who are actively rejecting Him or profaning Him?
He doesn’t have to listen to any of it! But He chooses to listen to us because we have accepted Him into our lives. We, as sinners, have accepted holiness into our lives, so He, as God, accepts our prayers into His life.

Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
How often do you tell others about God – not just the cursory “I go to church” or “this is what the bible says”, but tell them what God has changed in your life?
There is nothing better than a personal witness to solve a case; everyone is facing the same case in life: “Should I believe in Christ?”
If you stand by and tell them of all the things the bible says, they may believe it if they take time to find out about things, but if you tell them personal stuff Christ has done for you, they will be more willing to listen in quicker!

Psalm 66:5 Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!
How much credence do you give to the Word of God? How much do you look back at the things which are recorded in your bible and ask questions about them?
It is good to ask questions, but better still to try and look for the answers and not to leave those questions unanswered.
God has done many extraordinary things to and with mankind; not all of them we would want to agree with. Don’t just ignore them because they sound bad, find out why they happened so you can avoid those same reasons…

Jeremiah 20:11 But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonour will never be forgotten.
Never forget God has made a promise to never leave you. Jesus recounted that promise when He was in human form. We have it written down!
Yet so many of us cry out for help when things go wrong and not when we are feeling good. We cry out only because we fail…
God is always with us, from when we feel on top of the world to when we feel the whole world is on top of us!
Trust Him, always, and allow Him to guide you in the best way forward. Listen.

Micah 4:6 “In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles and those I have brought to grief.
God may well allow things to happen in our lives which we will question and wonder at, but when the time comes for us to be re-united with Him, He will make sure everything is perfect for us!
God is watching over us at all times and wants to help out every day – we just need to make sure we do ask Him for the help we need.
These words are directed at the Jewish nation, but they apply to all people. God is watchful over us all and continues to want to help us every step of the way which we are willing to make with Him instead of in spite of Him!

Hebrews 12:13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
Would you rather walk on a path which is level or a steep incline which will most likely allow you to fall and hurt yourself?
If we had the choice we would choose the easy way, but sometimes we have to put up with what we have in our lives rather than the choices we wish we had.
We need to make the most of what we have and to do that we need to take Christ with us as our helping and guiding hand; for every step and every direction!

Proverbs 4:26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
Each of us has free choice to do what we will; that will or those choices may not be the best we could do, but we do them.
How do you make the choices in your life? Do you follow the best or maddest sounding things to do, or do you try and discern what is righteous?
Our brains are amazing and fast; give a second or two though before you act… it may just make all the difference in your choices in life!

Proverbs 4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.
How many times have you been told to keep your eyes to yourself or keep them away from stuff?
The more we allow ourselves to see and watch things, the more we are willing to accept those things into our lives.
If you want to achieve a certain goal in life, then keeping your eyes firmly fixed on that goal will make it more likely to happen.
God wants you to look to Him in all things so your life will be centred around Him.

Proverbs 4:24 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
I know I will sound like an old man by saying this – but what comes out of your mouth does define you in many ways!
It is not nice to listen to a young person shout and scream obscenities at others. It is not nice to have to listen to anyone say such things.
Saying bad stuff seems to switch something in your brain which then somehow convinces you it is OK to do such things… it’s not! No matter how many times you say it!

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
No matter how hard you try to show you are doing the right things, pay the right price or whatever else you get up to, if you heart is not in the right place people will see right through your actions.
Too many people think they can buy their way through life or work their way through life – if you leave God out of your life, you get to spend life away from all that is good!
Show your heart. Don’t hide it. God wants to see your love for others as well as for Him.
Share in His great love today and show someone you mean it!

Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Have you noticed how you go after the things you want most in life? Have you noticed how wanting the wrong things allows you to go off track very quickly?
If we really want to join God in heaven, there will be a place waiting for us; but don’t make it an afterthought!
Changing your mind just after death is not going to be an option – we have to make the choice before we are face to face with Christ; only then can He say “I know and love this person!”

Luke 12:32 Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
Jesus may have spoken these words directly to the disciples who were around Him at the time, but the sentiment continues out into all the world.
Christ made sure these words got written down for many more people to get to hear them, even after so many years!
God is actually please to be able to share Heaven with as many people who want to join Him as possible.
Christ paved the way to make it possible for anyone and everyone to get there – by personal choice! Ask God…

Luke 6:20 Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Just who are the poor people Christ is talking of when He addresses His disciples with these words?
Many a scholar has come up with their own take on these words; even Matthew and Luke differ slightly in their wording.
Jesus is talking to all who are willing to admit they are lacking something in their lives because those are the people who will realise they fall short of God’s Kingdom!
Ask your Father in Heaven to fill that gap you have in your life…

Psalm 9:18 But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.
Have you noticed how God picked poor and needy people to give help to? Have you noticed how He chose the afflicted over the oppressors?
God loves all people and He will continue to lift up those who need it the most; even though society seems hell-bent on doing the opposite!
Countries and governments may well overlook those in need, but God does not overlook them.
All He asks is that we ask Him for help!

Psalm 13:1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
When we do not immediately respond to others, how do they react to us? When God does not immediately respond to our calls, how do we respond to Him?
We all expect our friends and family to come to our help when we fail at something or when things go wrong – but what do we do when others have problems?
God is always here for us but will not always put things right when we demand it. Just maybe He wants us to learn how to handle a situation, so we can help others out.
Don’t blame God when you feel you cannot handle a situation – call out and ask for His guidance to get you through it…

Psalm 43:2 You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?
How quick are you to blame God when things go wrong? How quick are you to say that God is the one who has walked away from the conversation?
It is our own doubt and disbelief which causes us to think such things and certainly not our God. We are the ones who falter and blame it on God.
Just like walking down the road and tripping over a paving slab which is sticking up slightly – we are too quick to blame others rather than accepting a bit of responsibility.
We should not have to demand God lays down our whole life before us before we live it – we may not like what we see!
