Psalm 98:2 The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
When I first read through this psalm I was relating everything back to the times of King David…
But stop and think… When Jesus came to earth in human form He changed the world by the way He acted!
Will you try change someone by acting a bit more like Jesus?

Psalm 19:3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
How many things do you look at and wonder how God was able to make them so beautifully?
How many of the things you do and say reflect God?
We are open books for people to see and hear – the only way we can expect to share the gospel is by showing people we live the gospel in the ways we live and speak.

2 Timothy 4:5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
Really, God does not ask much from us. The more we listen the more we see He is asking everyone to work together!
When we work together as a team we get things accomplished quicker and better.
God wants us to be in a world-wide team!

Psalm 130:3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
If we ever have to go to court, the law should prevail and the truth should come out.
We cannot escape the fact we have sinned, but we can have our sins forgiven.
Christ willingly takes on our sin debt so we will never have to face them again!

Psalm 32:1 Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
David knew full well it was not what He could do for God which got his sins forgiven.
David knew he had committed sins but also knew God was willing to forgive him!
The true blessing comes from knowing God is willing to forgive you!

Romans 4:14 For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless
Do you trust in God? Do you actually trust Him in everything?
So many times we trust in what we can do rather than trusting God because our faith does not quite make it…
Make you faith worth more by trusting God more in every thing in your life.

Psalm 96:5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
When we look to other things in our life as being important, just remember, they are there because God created this all in the beginning!
Nothing should be more important in our lives than God.
When we keep God first, He gives us room to love people and things in the proper way.

Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.’
This morning I have been thinking a lot about earthly possessions and what our actual needs are.
Jesus warned the person in the crowd they should not be so worried about their inheritance but more about what they need!
Sometimes we need to take a step back from riches and help someone else out who God has put in our lives.

Psalm 40:12 For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
We should be communing with God all the time so we can benefit from knowing what we should be doing all the time...
But, sometimes the world seem to be working against us and we cannot see a way forward.
If we don’t listen to what God is saying after calling out, how can we hope to survive?

Psalm 124:8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
King David learned of the power of God through trial an error in many cases…
We don’t have to learn by trial and error, we can follow Christ's example.
Our ultimate guide is God Himself; be it Father, Son or Holy Spirit!

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers
When everyone around us is doing something wrong, is it right to join in? No!
Christ wants us to be separate from the world and the sins which many people invite into their lives.
God can stay closer to us when we do not live sinful lives!

Psalm 119:38 Fulfil your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.
How often do you call out to God to help you avoid sins and to revere Him as you should?
How often do you ask Him for strength the avoid the things you cannot avoid by yourself?
We should be in constant prayer to ask Him to guide us and strengthen us as He has promised...

Ephesians 2:22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
How often do you clean your house? When someone is coming to visit, or do you keep it clean all the time?
We have a very important visitor who wants to come and stay within us: The Holy Spirit.
We should always be ready and always try to stay righteous so we make Him welcome at all times!

October 29: John 8:12-20
Key Verse: John 8:15
You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one.
Devotion:
One of the things we find hard not to do is to judge others by our own standards. If Jesus were to judge others by His own standards, everyone would fall short of the standard. But what Jesus says here is quite remarkable in my eyes. He says He is the Lights of the world, that He testifies of Himself and He does not judge others!
As a judge, Jesus would be the ultimate authority, but He stops short of judging people because He wants everyone to have a chance to come to Him and admit to their own shortcomings. He knows He is the Son of God but He calls Himself the Light of the world instead. If He came forward and told everyone He was the Son of God in the beginning, many may have not believed Him.
By coming forward as the light of the world He is telling everyone He is the example for others to look up at. He is not condemning people but giving them something to aim for instead. If we could be more like that instead of judging others I’m sure we would be a much more peaceful world!
But the most amazing things is when we come to Jesus He will stand before God and be our advocate, declaring us innocent before His Father. How can we turn that down!
Points to Ponder:
Do you judge people?
Will you try to be an example instead?

Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
If we knew exactly how long we would live for, many of us would only sort our lives out just before we die!
God wants us to have our lives sorted all the time, to be ready all the time.
The best way to do this is to have Christ with you always!

Psalm 68:6 God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
One of the things we get to know about God when we accept Him as our God is that He cares above and beyond!
When we call out to Him with our worries, our loneliness, our weakness or our infirmaries, He will answer!
When we turn our backs on Him, we are left to do our own things which often lead to destruction.

Romans 8:25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
What is hope unless we do not yet have what we hope for?
Jesus knew people around Him lacked the type of loving relationship He shared with His Father.

1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
When we accept Jesus into our lives we become children of God; that is so very special!
What the world sees is a person who has to rely on someone else – what we see is a Father who cares above and beyond!
Come and be a child of God and enjoy His protection and love!

Psalm 109:24 My knees give way from fasting; my body is thin and gaunt.
One of the things we get to learn is our bodies run out of energy unless we refill them!
We can go for a while without food and water, but not that long!
We can go for a while without the Gospel, but not too long otherwise we are left behind!

Romans 9:2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
Sometimes we have to face what is right in our heart verses what is right by mankind’s laws…
We have to make sure we choose what is right in God’s eyes and not necessarily in man’s eyes.
Choose God to avoid your anxiety.
