1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: we should love one another.

If we want to start acting like Christians then we need to understand why we should act that way. Jesus gave us a simple commandment to love one another, not as the other people “love” each other but as God has commanded us to.

That love means opening your heart to others and allowing them into your life. That love means sharing because you can. That love means caring because you see a need. That love must not be “switched off” like the world does but should always be available like God’s love is to us…

1 John 3:17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

One thing you will notice about Christians is that they are willing to share things with you; this is because that is exactly what God has taught us from the beginning and what Jesus reminded us when He was with man on earth.

If we start acting like Christians we will find it a lot easier to understand Christians and understand why God wants us to be this way; but it means that we may well have to change the way we look at other people because we will have to look at them as needing something rather than as losers…

Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

One of the biggest problems that we have is that we are always thinking of bad things. When we grow up we see bad things, we hear bad things and we have bad things happen to us; so naturally we also get involved with bad things and then our thoughts always seem to go back to those bad things… even when we are trying to be good, those bad thoughts still come back…

Those bad thoughts influence our lives! The more we think of them the more we are likely to give in to them. We need God with us so that we can break free of those continual bad thoughts…

James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

How do you catch a fish? You place some bait of some kind on a hook, the fish takes one look at that juicy worm (or whatever) and take a huge bite without thinking about what could happen! Bam! No more fish…

We are just like that – we take one look at some things in life and jump in without thinking. Bam! End of us…

We need to think about what God tells us, what He warns us against, and where He wants us to go. He uses the bible and other Christians to tell you these things. You have the choice as to whether you listen or not…
