1 Corinthians 9:19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.

As I pen this listening to “I’m no longer a slave to fear” I know that I am free to share God’s Word no matter what is happening in the world around me!

I don’t have to fear people not accepting the word of God. It is their choice for their own lives; it is my choice to continue sharing God’s Word with you all!

I don’t have to be controlled by any church organisation other than by what God declares in our lives.

Isaiah 40:21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?

God’s Word does not change! How can it change if it is God’s promise to us!

The world changes every day and we change, but God’s Word remains true now and forever through all our changes.

Do we realise just how special and amazing this is – it does not have to change because it was, is and always will be relevant!

Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

Yes we can give in to temptations and do our own thing – but God would rather we ask Him to help to resist temptation and follow His ways!

Does this lead to a boring life – I can attest it certainly does not because my life with God has been anything but boring!

God knows what is best for us and wants us to enjoy life with Him so others can be encouraged to live in similar ways.

Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry

Admit it, when you get angry you do things which you may not normally do! We all do and we do this because we are angry and lose focus on what is good.

When we are angry we may say things we regret later; and it is hard to fix those sorts of mistakes!

God wants us to fix things before they get out of hand – sound advice, but hard to live up to when we are scared of change...

Allow God to guide you every day.

Luke 11:3 Give us each day our daily bread.

Each day we wake up and start a new day. Some have fallen and no longer wake up on earth.

Each day, God wants us to take the truth and hold in deep in our hearts; but also to release it into the wild so others can find it too.

Take God’s Word today and accept it in your heart so your heart can shine with the light of Jesus and make someone else happy!

Matthew 6:4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

What do you do when you give gifts to others; do you tell even more people so they know what you are doing, or do you keep it quiet to not upset others?

I put it to you both above answers are questionable... We should be doing things because it is what God would like us to do – to love and support people around us.

God knows what we do at all times and rewards us in ways which often escape our notice until afterward.

Follow God’s will...

John 5:17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

God continues to be always here for us; Jesus knew this and continued to be always there for people. The Holy Spirit is always with us...

Yes, God has told us we need to take time off every week, but that does not have to be at a specific time and day of the week.

Take time off to be with God every week; it is profitable for your faith and your relationship with Christ.

Don’t be concerned if you do end up working when people say you should not be – just take time to be with God...

Malachi 4:4 Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

God continues to remind us to look to His Word for all things, words which have stood the same for many many years!

God has given us these words for a reason. It was no small thing to personally meet with Moses and give Him the Word. God continues to show us His Words through the Holy Spirit nowadays.

Trust God and listen with both ears and your heart. God speaks to you in many ways and in all ways will support His Word.

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Right from the early days of God leading the Israelites through the desert and settling in the Promised Land, God has encouraged people not to just read the law but meditate on it!

God wants us to understand what we read and to gain insight from the Holy Spirit on everything we read in His Word.

The more we think through what we read in our bibles, the more we will gain insight from the Holy Spirit – much like making sure we have good soil before planting seeds to grow.

Proverbs 13:20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

The more we hang around with wise people, the more we tend to learn from them – I used to love hanging round people who were able to do practical things, and I have learned a lot from that.

Jesus wants us to hang around people who know the truth and are willing to share that truth – so more people can be honest and open!

The more we try to do things the wrong way, the more likely we are to fall flat on our faces and have to endure the pain!

John 9:10 “How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.

What would you answer if you were asked how you were healed from your illness? Would you commend the doctors, nurses, medicine or God?

I hope your answer is all of the above and not just one or two of those involved in making you better!

We do need to remind people just how awesome God is and how His grace extends far beyond our common understanding.

Matthew 26:72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”

What do you do when someone asks you if you are “one of those bible punchers” or some other derogatory term for Christians?

Jesus has warned us we are going to be berated because we follow Him – and it could be a rough ride.

But He also promised He would never leave us and never forsake us – no matter how far we go and how much we deserve otherwise.

What a friend we have in Jesus!

Matthew 26:42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”

Grieving is a part of life, a part which should not just be skipped over to get on with something else more profitable, but an integral part of our society.

It is not a comfortable part of life, but it is necessary for us to accept what has happened and move on to another chapter in our lives.

Having someone to walk with you during this time is so very important. People do not always walk with God during these times, so step forward and be a surrogate for them...

Isaiah 48:15 I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission.

God calls people to do things because He knows they can do things! He does not call people to test how much they can do or how far they can go – that's just how we feel.

Our feelings are just that – feelings. God knows the truth and knows what we are capable of. If we continue to walk with Him and trust Him for guidance, we will see how much we can do.

Alone, we are just that; alone. But with God we can do so much more and reach so much further.

Trust Him, always.

Mark 10:42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.

When we work for any company, they are in charge of what we do – that is part of us working for them...

So if we are under the authority of someone else, we may be working against God’s ways without realising it.

We must always look to God for guidance on what we are doing and how we are working, whether it be in our own company or for someone else – God should always be the ultimate authority.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

None of us like to be proved wrong – but if we are willing to accept we can be wrong, we can learn more!

When the Sadducees tried to trip up Jesus with a point of law, Jesus answered them in a way where they were given a chance to accept they were wrong...

We need to take more notice of what God says then what the world says – God is the author of this world, we are the corrupters.

Proverbs 8:8 I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.

We can all look back on good or bad choices and criticise the path we took – we learn from the outcomes of things which happen around us... or at least we should be learning!

Wisdom is accepting the truth and changing our lives to follow that truth and to steer clear of the bad things in life.

Sometimes we have to make the choice before we find out what happens – then we need to follow wisdom so the outcome is the best we can hope for!

Proverbs 4:10 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.

The more we accept God’s ways into our lives, the more He is able to keep us and guide us through this world.

We may well face the same natural disasters as those around us and face the same world as they do – but we face it knowing we have God on our side.

God wants us to do as much as we can for Him and the more we try to work with Him, the more we will be able to do.

Live with God, every moment of every day!

Proverbs 3:26 for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.

In these terrible Covid times we do worry about things we have no control over – because they are frightening, and we cannot see them – just the consequences!

Even though we see the terrible things which overcome the people who do not take proper precautions, we also see the amazing things which happen to those who do take care.

God wants to continue protecting us, but we should not take Him to task by setting aside common sense!

Proverbs 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

I know times are tough for so many people and I know many people are not sleeping well because of the stress and worry in their lives.

God wants us to share our stress and worries with Him so He can try and lift those burdens from our shoulders – which means we have to start to talk to Him!

God knows our troubles and our worries, but also knows if we are willing to open those up to Him, we will find peace...

We can know this too by trusting in Him with everything.
