Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

One thing we all get carried away with is the things we have or the things we want in life. They may be the latest iPhone, tablet or bike and we may really want them; but we must remember that those things are not what give us life.

Yes we can have a really good time with them whilst they work and whilst we have them, but when they disappear, so does our joy. God wants us to know a much better joy in our life, one that He gives us which He shows us through the bible, one that will last with us forever. We may not be able to ride it or play games on it, but it is real and everlasting!

Luke 17:33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it

“I’m all right! It’s everyone else that’s got the problem!”

How many times have you heard yourself say or think that? Or how many times have you tried hard to do something right and fallen flat on your face? Life can be hard, difficult and even seem like it is impossible at times. So why are we telling you this verse today?

God wants us to see that if we allow Him to guide us, things will change for the better. It may still be difficult and we may not like the changes, but God is the One who knows what is best for us; we just have to listen and learn from Him…

Luke 19:10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

After all the celebrations die down you may begin to think that people have given up on you or that they don’t seem to care; I mean, we had all the presents a week ago, now there seems like there is nothing left to do…

Please remember that God did allow Jesus to be born on earth thousands of years ago. Jesus then made it His personal quest to seek and to save the people around Him that may well have been feeling very lost. God continues to seek people and to save them from their ways and their lives. He wants to do the same for you…

John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

You may hear some pretty grim stories from the bible but the one thing we need to remember is that it all happened that way for a very good reason – so that we can learn from what has happened in the past. God has personally made sure that Jesus Christ came to rescue us from the terrible lives that we may have and to show us how special life can be with Him.

Don’t push God out just because someone else told you something that you did not like. God has come to save us…
