Psalm 79:9 Help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.
Why do you call on God to help you? Is it to get you out of a spot of bother, or is it so God can get the glory?
If we are seeking personal gratification for what we do for God, we are not doing it for God!
Stop looking for personal gratification out of your work for God!

What use is it to go to college or university if you are not going to use the knowledge you have gained?
The same can be said about learning about Jesus – if we do not learn from what we hear, we make it useless!
God’s Word is everything we should aim for!
Matthew 7:6 Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
How often did you share your best toys with others as a child?
How many toys can you remember being broken by others?
God wants us to share and be friendly, but also to be sensible about it too!
Psalm 85:8 I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants - but let them not turn to folly.
When we are willing to listen to the best possible plan forward – we may just succeed!
When we listen to our pride and greed – we have no hope but in ourselves.
Let us rather hope in the one who knows it all!
